Welcome to the Conca de Barberà, a great place to visit all year round! A stone’s throw from the beaches of the Costa Daurada and forming part of the Cistercian Route, this rural county offers a wide range of sporting and leisure activities; accommodation and fine cuisine; art, culture and tradition; well-planned routes through areas of great natural beauty: in short, everything you need to assure a fabulous holiday break! Its stunning landscape of hills and valleys and its rich historical and cultural heritage are just two reasons to come and discover it for yourself. The climate is variable, according to the region you visit. Near the coast, the smooth Mediterranean climate is prevalent; whilst the inland zones have a more Continental climate, marked by a notable difference in daytime and night-time temperatures. This makes it a particularly suitable region for viniculture, with many fine wines and cavas being produced. The county is characterised by dramatic changes in the landscape of its different zones. In the central and southern parts, the ‘conca’ itself (the word means a geological depression, or basin) is bordered by low mountains, and watered by the Francolí and Anguera rivers. |

In contrast, to the north it forms part of the high Segarra plain, giving it a very different appearance. |
